On April 24th, the three-day FAIR plus 2025, a comprehensive exhibition dedicated to the entire robotics industry chain, opened at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Futian. The event brings together 180 leading robotics companies, showcasing their cutting-edge technologies and innovations. Participants include prominent companies from Shenzhen's "Robot Valley," such as UBTECH Robotics, Dobot, and ForwardX Robotics, alongside Hangzhou-based Unitree Robotics and Neurabotics, all unveiling their latest advancements.

At the world's first humanoid half-marathon, UBTECH's humanoid robot "Tiangong Ultra," developed by the Beijing Innovation Center of Humanoid Robotics, for which UBTECH serves as an initiator and general manager, took first place with a time of two hours, 40 minutes and 42 seconds. Although the award-winning "Tiangong Ultra" was not on display at FAIR plus, UBTECH's "Tiangong 1.0," capable of dancing and jogging, drew large crowds eager to snap photos.

Innovative exhibits abounded throughout the expo. A piano-playing humanoid robot developed by the Hangzhou Humanoid Robot Innovation Center demonstrated agile fingers and produced melodious tunes at a level equivalent to Grade 6 in piano test. Shenzhen-based Lingpeng Intelligent Technology unveiled "Youjia," a dual-arm biomimetic robot featuring a 7-axis redundant structure that enables high flexibility and general-purpose applications, even capable of delicately picking up a single strand of hair. Also on display, Unitree Robotics' robotic dog performed playful tricks like lying down and standing on its head, while its G1 humanoid robot engaged visitors in interactive demos, showcasing the dynamism and charm of today's robotic innovations.

According to the corporate database Qichacha, as of December 31st, 2024, Shenzhen was home to 74,032 companies involved in the robotics sector. A total of 14,534 new robotics companies were established in 2024 alone, a 39.64% year-on-year increase. Notably, the number of robotics companies with related patents surged more than tenfold. In terms of industry composition, industrial robotics companies accounted for 43.75%, while non-industrial robotics companies made up 56.25%.

In 2024, Shenzhen's robotics industry chain recorded an annual output value surpassing 200 billion yuan for the first time. In recent years, the city has introduced a series of industrial development plans and supportive policies. Its "Robot Valley" has evolved into an integrated ecosystem encompassing research, education, and production, helping lower enterprise costs, speed up technological innovation, and enhance real-world applications, establishing Shenzhen as a key national hub for the robotics industry.
